Well its starting to actually feel like spring in Iowa City after a mild winter. As you can see we are starting to update some features here on the site. We now have mp3 stream capablity down below thanks to our web/design saviour mike gibson. We will be adding more songs from the record soon. We have a bunch of local shows at the Mill beginning this friday with Tapes ‘n Tapes. If you havent heard of this band yet you must be living under a rock. these guys are all over pitchfork and other big music media outlets. It promises to be a highlight of the mission creek music festival. We are also playing two other great shows at the mill with the headlights on april 9th, and two gallants on may 20th. In the meantime, we have been writing new songs at a staggering rate. We will be sure to work those hot little nuggets into our setlists. Hope to seeya out at the shows!

Its been awhile since we last posted, but we are keeping busy. Chicago is quickly becoming our second home. We are playing the empty bottle, which we are all stoked about. We added a last minute acoustic set date at the mill with Low. We will hit Iowa City hard in march playing three shows throughout the month, including a local music showcase which would be a great way to check out some local bands. In the meantime, we have been writing a ton of new material that we will leak into shows gradually. We are super excited about the songs and cant wait for ya’ll to hear em. In april we are getting some press love from Alternative Press aka AP magazine. We are still looking for a home for our album Seeds of Devastation, we hope it doesnt fall into a Chinese Democracy type scenario. We havent resulted to rocking corn rows and hockey jerseys just yet. sorry if you dont get the reference.

Neenah was a great time. thank you goes out to the wandering sons and cranky pats. we are making our debut at schubas this saturday at 10pm. it should be a great time for all. Also we just lined up a few other shows, one notably at the empty bottle in chicago for free with the freak folk band wooden wand and the vanishing voice. it should be sweet. it sure is cold.

its been awhile I suppose. we have been playing shows weekly around the midwest area and they have gone very well. we are growing tighter with our newest members ofer and evan and getting a great reception with crowd participation. we are making the journey up to cedar falls this saturday to play a great show with the beat strings, a is jump, and old scratch revival singers at the reverb. other than that we are playing locally at gabes nov 30th with our good friends brian jones and askeleton. our record artwork is getting done as we speak and it will be titled seeds, a cat named luke in the uk is doing it and he is very talented, you can check out his stuff as one of our myspace top 8 dudes. the tracklist for the record is as follows 1.) it remains to be seen, 2.) symmetrical smiles, 3.) little mystery, 4.) great american, 5.) grand deceiver of information, 6.) sarah, 7.) story never gets old, 8.) city never sleeps, 9.) big one coming, 10.) echo children, and 11.) knocks over time. we should have a label home for the record in the next month or so shooting for a spring release. many thanks to crucial people that help us with our everyday tasks, first on the list is mike gibson who has designed this very site as well as a kick ass new tour poster that will be available soon! other cats worthy of mention include james at the pro shop for juicin us up with a good deal on our brand new pa head, and you people that come to the shows and support us. we have already started writing new material for another record that we will be fitting in our upcoming shows. we are also selling limited edition hand screened cover cdr demos available at shows and through paypal. I will try and get a scan in our releases section soon enough. I hope everyone is bulking up for winter cus its cold as hell. see you soon and remember death ships love you, especially the metal heads who confuse our name for being a band ripping rifftastic thrash songs. all I can say to that is just wait.

hey everyone I am currently in Atlanta mixing our debut full length that may or may not be titled seeds of devastation with mr. matt malpass at monsters and marigolds studios. after a brief layover in detriot I made it to atlanta in one piece after a threat of 30 mph winds. i slept most the way, eventhough there were these two annoying little twins. atlanta is just as cold as iowa city. i brought the cold I guess. we already mixed it remains to be seen and sarah, and are mixing little mystery currently. so far so good. we plan to work our asses off to make sure we get all the sounds we need. as matt mixes I have been keepin busy making sure pineapple the dog gets to go outside and take care of buisness. other news is we are coming to chicago again at a better venue on a prime saturday night. the show is tentative but will most likely happen. it will take place sat. dec 10th at schubas tavern with deadboy & the elefantmen (fat possum) and a local chicago band to be announced. we are stoked to finally play a really reputatible chicago establishment. mark your calanders.
